ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Helen was a complete bookworm from the time she could sound out the words on the page. She’ll always be thankful for her mom allowing her to read at the kitchen table during mealtimes. Reading naturally led to writing by the time she was eight or nine – she started with fantasy stories, dabbled in contemporary fiction, and even tried a little romance. MYTHOLOGY is an urban fantasy/love story and in that way reflects some of her earliest writing interests.

Things that inspire Helen to write are bowls of ice cream with lots of Magic Shell, the lack of cats or other things she’s allergic to in the vicinity, and plugging into playlists with her Neff headphones – the knit ones with the bear’s ears.

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Emma Hart, comes the second book in The Game series, and the story everyone wanted after The Love Game…

She's in love with him.
He's trying not to love her.
One night changes everything.

Aston Banks never meant to get close to Megan Harper – not even for that one night. Haunted by a childhood he refuses to face, he knew she could break through every wall he’d ever built and tear them down without even realising she was doing it.

Betraying Braden by starting a relationship with Aston wasn’t on Megan’s to-do list, but the second she sees a glimpse of someone other than the arrogant ass she’s come to know, she can’t walk away.

Aston’s childhood is worse than Megan ever guessed, but as he tries and fails to push her away, it’s clear her love is stronger than the demons that cling to him every day. And now, because of it, he finally has to deal with what he’s buried deep down.

What he doesn’t want to face. What he’s fought against for so long.

And they have to do it all without Braden finding out.

Keeping a relationship secret has never been harder.

**This book can be read as a standalone novel, but reading The Love Game (The Game, #1) beforehand is advised.**

To be honest, when I first picked up Playing For Keeps, it seemed like it was going to be just like The Love Game, man was I wrong! I think that the only thing that was the same were the characters. Playing For Keeps had different main characters, which I really like in book series. It gives the reader a whole new outlook on the life that everyone is living.
What's not to love about Megs? Nothing! She's the type of person that everyone wants to be around, that people dream of being, and Emma has made her look good. Aston on the other hand. Holy God! *fans self* At first, I didn't care for him at all, but he eventually came around and got on my good side. He a whole lot of something. Something being complicated, wanted, sought after, loveable. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to punch him in the face a few times, but I wanted to do the same thing to the Caveman!

All and all, Playing For Keeps will be kept on the top shelf of my bookshelf. Out of the reach of children, for many reasons. Emma has for sure done it again, she's brought the story to life. Making you fall in and out, and back in love with the characters that roam her head!

You have shown me a whole new world Emma Hart. A world of romance novels. Lets see if other authors can stand up to where you are!

The Love Game by Emma Hart!

I personally wasn't a part of The Love Game Blog Tour when it happened, but I am a part of the Playing For Keeps Blog Tour. And to do a review for Playing For Keeps by Emma Hart, I had to read The Love Game, and I'm so glad that I did! This novel was simply AMAZING! The Character were so alive. It's as if I personally knew them, they all had their own story, and it was completely breath taking how Emma brought them together. The Love Game is definitely a novel that should be shared with everyone.

I've cried. I've laughed. And I've held my breath. This book has a little bit of everything for everyone! It had everything that I want in a book!

BLURB:

His challenge? Make her fall in love with him.

Her challenge? Play the player.

Until life changes the rules of the game.

Maddie Stevens hated Braden Carter on sight. Arrogant, egotistical, and the playboy of the University of California, Berkeley, he's everything her brother Pearce has taught her to despise. So why, when the girls challenge her to play the player, doesn't she say no? She doesn't know either.

Braden wanted fiery little Maddie the second he laid eyes on her - and he'd do anything to have her, hence why he's agreed to make her fall in love with him. After all, it's the only way he'll get what he wants. Sex.

But, as Braden discovers, there's more to the girl from Brooklyn than he ever imagined - and he can't help but care about the broken girl behind those pretty green eyes.

Maddie finds Braden isn't just a walking erection - he actually has feelings. He can be sweet, funny and his good looks don't exactly hurt. That means trouble - but when her brother Pearce turns up in Berkeley begging for her help, she realises Braden and Pearce aren't so alike anymore.

And maybe, just maybe, they're exactly what each other needs.

Maven Blog Tour!

When I signed up for the cover reveal, I had no idea who Starla Huchton was, or what she was writing about. But I did it anyways, because I was once told that Indie Authors will get no where without the help of others. Whether it be readers, other writers, or bloggers, every little bit helps.

When the time came around for the blog tour, I jump back on the band wagon because of that reason, I wanted to help this woman get her book out there. So I told her to sign me up for a review. ` When I got my e-copy of the book, it sat in my email for about a week. I was hesitant to actually start reading it because I knew it was a Sci-Fi/Romance, and neither of those genres are what I normally read. But I woke up one morning and told myself that it had to get done, I told Starla Huchton that I would write a review for her book, so I best get started on doing just that.

I cannot remember who told me this, but someone had mentioned that if something interesting doesn't happen in the first ten pages of the novel, the rest of the book will not grab your attention the way it should. Luckily, Maven by Starla Huchton caught my attention within the first few pages. The characters were so alive in this story, it's as if I were standing there watching everything play through. Starla really knows how to draw a picture in ones mind. Not only was I surprised that I was pulled under the water with this novel, but I couldn't put it down. I didn't want to put it down! There were twists and turns in the story that I didn't even pick up on, and normally I find things pretty predicable, not in this story though.  The story hooked me like no other, and I shouldn't have judged it for being a Sci-Fi/Romance, because this is a book that I would recommend to everyone!

It was a wonderful read, and I definitely give this novel five out of five stars!  Kudos Starla, Kudos!

Deviation Cover Reveal

Deviation Cover Reveal
NA Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 22, 2013

It brings me great honor to be able to share this with you guys. Dani Morales is a wonderful person and she's always giving more time than she needs to help fellow authors and writers, so this is my way of helping her. When she sent out the tweet, and email about the cover reveal, I jumped on that bandwagon as fast as I could.

But, before we actually get to the cover, a little bit about the book, and the author.

Blurb
It takes just one week to realize that you’re broken, but not unfixable. ONE week to realize everything doesn’t come with a price. One week to fall in love with love. One week to fall in love with you.
Family torn apart at thirteen by a drunk driver.
Fifteen foster homes in five years.
Determined to keep everything at bay, Nevaeh Rodgers will do whatever it takes to forget.

Until she meets Angel Barajas at a party. He can’t keep his eyes off of her. Saving her from a guy at the party and an overdose, he can’t just let her walk out his door. Determined to help her whether she wants the help or not, he sets out to find her and not a moment too soon.

It takes ONE day to realize the relationship you’re in isn’t healthy and leave. TWO days to realize you’re as pathetic as the loser you stayed with. THREE days to get a combination of drugs out of your system. FOUR days to wish life would end so you can take matters into your own hands. FIVE days to be saved. It takes a week to realize that everything each and every one of those days has in common, is the vibrant blue eyes that are staring at me right now.

Excerpt
I’m staring at myself in the mirror of my bathroom. It’s 3 am and I’m fighting with my reflection. Each part of me is demanding to be brought to the surface. The one looking at me is the girl I used to be. She’s begging to be let out, to be more than a reflection. Then there’s me, the one in the here and now. The damaged one looking to take over completely. Fighting. Always fighting, it’s like a never ending battle raging within myself and I can’t stop it. I don’t know how to stop it, I don’t know if I want to. It’s a constant reminder that this is the path I chose. The path so off course that I don’t know if I can ever return to the original one. I didn’t leave bread crumbs like Hansel and Gretel, although those didn’t work out well with them either.
I walk out of the bathroom and go to the bookcase to look for a book. I can see I’m not going to be going back to bed anytime soon, I might as well do something productive. Trying to do something to get my mind off of the war ragging within. Running my fingers over the bindings of the books, head tilted to the right reading the spines, when I come to this worn blue book. It looks completely out of place from the others. Were they look new, you can tell this one is old. It has no writing on the spine, so I pull it out to see what it is. Inscribed on the front in the most beautiful cursive I have ever seen is the word Divinity. Completely intrigued by what this book is about I head over to the lamp by the bean bag, turn it on, and collapse into the bean bag.
Page after page of information on destiny and the paths we are on. Different people’s takes on fate and whether they believe that we are all destined for a certain path. There was a story about how this girl didn’t believe she would ever get back to her given path, her destiny is what she called it. After years of working to right the wrong she’s done in the past, she finally believed she was on her predestined path and was finally happy. I close the book after her story to think about what I’ve read. If they’re right and we are destined for something, what the hell could I be destined for? How can this be the life laid out for me by the fates? The weavers of life. I guess they have a sick sense of humor. They pick people out to have issues to keep themselves entertained.
What if the book holds truth? Can I be like that girl? Maybe I was on the right path up until everything happened and I’ve been deviating ever since. Is there a way to get back to that? To free the girl trapped in the mirror? But if she’s free where would the present me go, into the mirror, or is there a way to merge the two? Maybe accepting all that I’ve done for what it was will be the key to becoming me again.

“Bleeding Out” by Imagine Dragons-The Witch’s Curse
This song describes almost literally what happens in The Witch’s Curse. And, oddly enough, I didn’t hear this song until after the story was written. I love these lyrics: “And I close my eyes and I take it in.” This song is about letting go and “bleeding out” for the one you love because you don’t have any other options to save them. Sometimes, we do crazy things for the ones we love.-David James.

“Warzone” by The Wanted-The Enchanter’s Fire
This song is about betrayal, about getting even, and so much of The Enchanter’s Fire is about that. And yet, like this song, Lily must learn to let old things go so she can make way for new ones. Love is like that a lot, and this song fits the story perfectly.-David James.
